Welcome to the latest edition of The Chaberton Current! As we near the end of 2025, this issue looks at how distributed energy continues to create opportunity by strengthening local grid reliability, supporting communities, and shaping the policies that guide its development. Whether you’re partnering with us on a project or following industry progress, we hope these updates give you a clear view of how distributed energy is shaping the future.

We made the list! (Again!)

For the second consecutive year, Chaberton Energy earned recognition on Inc. Magazine's prestigious Inc. 5000 list, ranking No. 53 among America's fastest-growing private companies. We also ranked No. 2 among energy companies nationwide and No. 1 in Maryland, reflecting remarkable growth since 2020 with 140+ projects representing 790+ megawatts under development.

"As we come face to face with rising energy demand, higher prices and policy shifts, companies like ours must innovate to minimize the impact on American consumers," said CEO Stefano Ratti.

Project Highlights - Project Lime Kiln

Earlier this year, Chaberton joined project partner Pivot Energy to host a ribbon cutting for the Lime Kiln community solar project in Fulton, Maryland. This 3.2 MWdc solar farm is up and running, adding locally generated power to the grid and helping meet growing energy demand and supplies enough electricity to power more than 500 nearby homes and businesses. Projects like Lime Kiln bring solar power directly to the communities that need it, with 50% of the project's subscribers located right in Howard County.

Beyond the energy benefits, Project Lime Kiln also supports local biodiversity with native pollinators like milkweed and black-eyed Susans, and incorporates sheep grazing to manage vegetation.

Save Main Street Solar

Untitled (6)

Chaberton joined the Solar Energy Industries Association and fellow solar workers and advocates on Capitol Hill for the Save Main Street Solar rally. The company stood alongside industry leaders and solar professionals to advocate for the future of renewable energy. The message was clear: solar creates jobs, strengthens the grid, helps meet the energy crisis, and powers economic growth in communities nationwide.

Community Impact

Chaberton Cares

Chaberton Cares gives back to the communities we serve. For every megawatt of new community solar capacity, we provide $5,000 in funding for local organizations. Since August 2023, we’ve supported more than 20 organizations making a difference in our project regions.

Investing in Tomorrow's Innovators

Through Chaberton Cares, we partnered with the Bright Minds Foundation, Howard County Public Schools' education foundation, donating $10,000 to fund STEM scholarships for graduating seniors over the next five years. This investment supports the next generation of problem-solvers and renewable energy leaders.

The students supported through this scholarship could one day design solar panels, engineer more efficient grids, or launch climate-forward technologies that change the world. The Bright Minds Foundation's commitment to equity and innovation aligns with our belief that investing in local communities strengthens both education and the future of energy.of empowering students while ensuring they have the tools to succeed.

New Ways to Partner with Chaberton Energy

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) offer a new way to support local energy solutions with a smaller footprint. These systems require just 0.25 to 2 acres and store energy when it's abundant and release it when demand peaks, helping create a more reliable and resilient grid while helping control costs to consumers.

BESS can work as standalone projects or alongside solar installations. For landowners, these systems provide predictable income for 25+ years, creating economic benefits that can support families for generations to come.
